Hammarsdale Performance Troupe
Engaging local youth living in the township of Hammarsdale through dance, life skills, mentoring and performances. Mayibuye provides a safe place for youth to interact and learn away from negative peer pressures. The group meets 3 times a week after school and participate a number of personal development opportunities with classes in nutrition, leadership, HIV awareness, substance abuse prevention, community development and study skills. The group performs regularily throughout KwaZulu Natal.

Umlazi Performance Troupe
3 nights a week participants come together to learn new dances skills and routines, and work on meaningful drama performances which share their story and powerful messages with the audiences. The group performs at various festivals and opening ceremonies throughout KwaZulu Natal.

Pietermartizburg Performance Troupe
Located in Ashdown, children and youth meet together 3 nights a week to engage in performing arts and life skills workshops. The group excel in Dance, Drama and Singing and have a great focus on cultural traditional arts.

Youth Development Forums
Mayibuye runs International Youth Development Forums in KwaZulu-Natal each year.. During school holidays the students participate in a number of life skill sessions around a theme. The 2012 camp "Acceptance: it's your choice", was held in December and focused on breaking down barriers and reducing judgement.
To promote cross cultural understanding many different groups are invited to participate in the forums including Australians, IsiZulu, IsiXhosa, IsiSisotho, IsiNdebele and Zimbabwe.
Classes in a number of popular South African and Australian dance styles are studied including Local, Zulu, Hip Hop, Ballet, Jazz and Lyrical.
Volunteer Leadership Retreat
A training camp, for our local volunteers to gain business, management and leadership training. The young adults come together for team building activities, strategic planning, discussions around best practice. The weeks is an anticipated event, allowing the volunteers to work on their own personal development and gain the skills needed to effectively undertake their roles.
